Welcome! 

I am happy to be returning to Harris! This will be my second year teaching at Harris. We have many exciting activities and learning experiences that will develop language skills while covering core content planned for this year. I look forward to seeing each and every student grow academically and socially as the year progresses! 

Our main goals for first semester (August - December) are:
Reading: Increase fluency, master 10 vocabulary words per week, describe characters and setting of a story, and summarize four parts of a story using transition words (first, then, next, last).
Grammar: Master understanding and usage of nouns (singular/plural, common/proper), Master understanding and usage of verbs (past/present/future), master understanding and usage of adjectives (what kind, how many). 
Writing: Plan, outline, and write a five-paragraph essay independently. Use proper capitalization and punctuation all the time. 
Speaking/Listening/Vocabulary: Use content related vocabulary when speaking in class, speak and ask questions in complete sentences, speak with proper voice inflection, memorize and repeat lengthy sentences. 


About Me

As mentioned above, this is my second year at Harris. Prior to coming here, I taught in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for the previous four years. Prior to that, I taught in Atlanta, Georgia. I love teaching language learners and have a curiosity and passion for learning about other languages and cultures, as well as sharing language and culture information with my students. I love to travel in my spare time and have been fortunate enough to have traveled to 26 countries so far!
