Kindergarten is a time for wonder, inquiry, creativity, and success. It's also a time for learning to get along with others, to participate in group activities, to follow directions and to show off all of the new skills we are developing here at school.
Our classroom is a very fun place to be -- we love to sing and dance as we learn all about our letters and our numbers. We're excited to learn how to write down our thoughts, feelings, and ideas - using both drawings and words - so we can share them with others. We hope that you will join us on our journey!!
I grew up in Bethlehem, PA and began teaching in 1990. My husband and I moved to Arizona in 2001 for the many beautiful sunny days and we don't miss shoveling snow at all.
I've taught in many different settings and each of those experiences has helped me grow and develop my craft. I've taught all grades from Pre-K through 5th, and I discovered that I am truly "at home" with Kindergarten. I am an Early Childhood Specialist by training, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of English as a New Language, Early & Middle Childhood. I'm excited to have been given the opportunity to join the Harris School Community this year, and I am looking forward to being with you for many years to come!
